Scholarships

NDTC offers Scholarship Opportunities each Spring.










NDTC Scholarship Program

The 2021 application deadline has passed, but each year, NDTC awards ten $750 scholarships to high school seniors going on to further their education after graduation.

General Eligibility

  • Be a graduating high school senior
  • Parent(s) or guardian(s) must have their full-time primary residence within NDTC exchanges and must be a current subscriber to NDTC telecommunications services
  • Must be accepted and registered for the upcoming fall term at an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school
  • Consideration may be given for special circumstances

Requirements/Selection Criteria

Applications are judged based on the following required criteria.

  • Responses to essay questions – at minimum requested length and double-spaced
  • Most recent high school transcript, including 7 semesters, GPA, and Class Rank
  • ACT test scores if not included on transcript
  • Achievements
  • School activities
  • Community activities
  • Reference letter from high school official or teacher
  • Reference letter from community member (not related to applicant)
  • Consideration of special circumstances if applicable

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Children of NDTC employees are not eligible.



The scholarship program for 2022 will begin accepting applications December 1, 2021.





FRS Scholarship program

The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), in cooperation with NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, awards $2,500 scholarships to students from rural America for their first year of college or vocational-technical school. All applicants require sponsorship by an NTCA—The Rural Broadband Association member company to be eligible. As your local telecommunications service provider and an NTCA member, NDTC is pleased to sponsor high school seniors in our serving area whose parent(s) or guardian(s) have their full-time primary residence within NDTC exchanges and are currently subscribed to NDTC telecommunication services. If a student is awarded this scholarship, FRS provides $2,000 and NDTC provides a $500 match for a total scholarship award of $2,500.

The FRS Scholarship program for 2022, will begin accepting applications on January 1, 2022.
