Bullet DSL Advantage - High speed Internet access service is up to 15 times faster than dial-up modem connections. Unlike dial-up services, there is no wait to connect and never a busy signal. Also, no need for a second phone line since DSL doesn't interrupt the line. Different from cable or wireless technologies, the high speed connection is always connected to our Internet Backbone (no dialing is required). The high speed connection is always on and available (as long as your computer is on), not shared with other users and also free from over time charges. Perfect for personal web surfing or setting up your own Internet servers.

DSL is a flat rate service with no usage or mileage charges, not like some other existing high bandwidth transport technologies.

Power users and small businesses now have a cost effective solution for high speed connectivity. No need for a second phone line, current users of dial-up accounts can free up their phone line and yet stay connected to the Internet.

Bullet Rural Advantage - For our rural customers. DSL technology is improving at a rapid pace but there continues to be restrictions on the distance the DSL signal can travel on a twisted pair of copper wires (phone line). One of the options we now have available for some of our rural customers is our Rural Advantage high-speed wireless Internet. This is a line-of-sight technology, which means that we put an antenna at your house and it sends and receives information from a stationary tower. The signal can be blocked by trees, hills, etc. which may be in that line-of-sight.

To check on availability, pricing, and equipment for this service in your area, please call our business office during our regular office hours.

  • One (1) ethernet card is required for each PC.
  • Ethernet cards (NIC) are required. Most newer computers may have an Ethernet card already installed.
  • Ethernet cards may be purchased from someplace other than NDTC, but the customer will be responsible to make sure the card is installed and working.
  • NDTC provides 2 types of Ethernet cards, internal and USB.
To determine if you have an Ethernet card in your computer, use the following procedure:
1. Go to desktop and right click on "My Computer"
2. Select "Properties"
3. Select "Hardware"
4. Select "Network Adapters"
5. If Ethernet Card exists, the type will be listed.

Bullet Jack/Material and Miscellaneous Patchcord Charges (if required): Approximately $20.

Bullet DSL Modem: Will be provided by NDTC at no cost to the customer, but NDTC will retain ownership of the modem.

Bullet Firewall: A hardware firewall is recommended for added security to the customer. Without this firewall, there is a risk that other users on the World Wide Internet may wrongfully or inadvertently access what is on your computer(s) attached to the Internet. Because DSL has a live connection at all times, the risk is higher. Contact us for more information.

Firewall Prices:
4-port wired firewall $39.95
4-port wireless firewall  $69.95

Bullet Network Charges: Installation cost of networking hardware such as hubs, router/firewalls, patch panels, and/or network cabling systems with category 5 wires will be billed at $58.00/hour based on 1/4 hour increments. Material costs will depend on the customer's particular equipment needs. Configuration of networks and installation of Ethernet cards will be billed at $75.00/hour based on half hour increments.

Bullet Wireless Networking: NDTC is able to accommodate wireless networking for your home or office. Contact us for more information.

Bullet Static IP addresses are available. Please call for more information.

*Distance limitations prevent service to all telephone subscribers. Generally service is available to customers within 30,000 feet of the central office.
