This is a special notice from NDTC to farmers, ranchers, and landowners.

Fall is the time of year when there is an increase in the burning of ditches and sloughs. We understand the reasons for these controlled burns; however, there is great potential for costly damages and service interruptions when telephone terminals are in the area being burned. Please take a few minutes before you burn to check for any terminals in the area to be burned and either spade up the ground or do a small controlled burn around the terminal to keep the most intense heat from damaging the contents within the terminal. We appreciate the extra time you spend to help NDTC keep costs and unnecessary service interruptions down. Thank you for your cooperation.

Lifeline/Linkup - Available Through NDTC

To assist qualified customers in obtaining and maintaining local telephone service, discount assistance programs are available through NDTC.

Lifeline, a government program, provides eligible customers with a monthly discount on charges for their primary home phone line. NDTC telephone service is a Lifeline supported service.

Link-Up provides qualified subscribers of Tribal lands with a discount off of the one-time costs associated with initiating phone service at their principal place of residence.

An individual is eligible if he or she participates in one of the following programs: Medicaid, Food Stamps, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance, National School Lunch (NSL) Programs' Free Lunch Program, or if income is at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Residents of Tribal lands qualify if they participate in any of the above programs or one of the following: Bureau of Indean Affairs (BIA) general assistance, Head Start (those meeting its income-qualifying standards), Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR).

For more information, to request an application, or to determine whether or not you qualify, call NDTC at 662.1100.

Question: I like to use Pinterest to look for home decorating and craft ideas, but sometimes it takes a long time to find what I want. How can I search more efficiently for something on Pinterest?

Answer: To find things more easily on Pinterest, you can use the site's Guided Search feature. It's a great way to sift through Pinterest's 750 million boards and 30 billion pins to find just the right ideas.

Pinterest's Guided Search works like this:
  • Type your search term into Pinterest's search bar and you'll see "Guides" pop up, which will help you find keywords to add to your search. Guides are scrollable — just click on the arrow at the far right of your display to see additional options.
  • When you click a Guide, you'll automatically add it to your original search query. Then a fresh set of Guides will appear under the search bar, and you can continue selecting more keywords to narrow your focus.

  • Guided Search is especially valuable as a visual search engine for inspiration.
